Efficient online one-way traffic scheduling for restricted waterways

In Yangtze River traffic management, to manage ship sequencing and scheduling effectively efficiently in restricted waterways has long been a challenging issue. This paper proposes Sliding Window based Online Sequencing Scheduling algorithm (OSS-SW) tackle this problem. The OSS is capable of generating more efficient sequence by introducing the ‘position shift’ concept which takes advantages ships’ sailing time differences waterway. sliding window mechanism on other hand introduced handle uncertainties reduce computational complexity. impact waterway congestion performance OSS-SW also investigated. Further, parameter settings proposed are investigated detail. Both simulation studies real data applications confirm that outperforms existing widely adopted Traffic Signal Revealing System (TSRS) Expert (FAHP-ES) solving
